Harley Riders

Milwaukee is the headquarters of Harley Davidson. Thousand of riders rumbled into this town last week. The sound of the Harley-Davidson motorcyle filled the air the whole week here in our place, as soon as I wake up and it's awesome. It's amazing seeing a group of riders coming from all over the states or worldwide as they said, waving their flags on their bikes. Darn, I missed the fun watching the activities including the Saturday night performance of Bruce Springsteen and the E street Band because of my work schedule.

Best-ever relay

The moment I've been waiting in the Beijing Olympics is the 4x100-meter free style relay team with Team USA against the France. I was intrigued with what the boastful remark of Alain Bernard, "The Americans? We're going to smash them. That's what were here for." So, I waited till 11 pm yesterday just to watch the competition. Australia was on the lead on the first leg, then France took over, and you can actually called the race for the French with about 60 meters left. But this is the unbelievable...Jason Lezak (USA)pulled off the fastest 100-meter split in the history of the games. While I was watching it, it's like I'm watching a movie, unstoppable, impossible mission of the americans, for a split second you can see the french so far ahead, and when it was over, you will surprised that American won.

Removing Conditions

Ninety days from now is the expiration of my Conditional Permanent Resident Card (known as Green Card). And we must have to file jointly (husband and me) for the Removal of the Condition to be able to get the Permanent Resident Card. We just mailed the packet today, good thing Jon take the day off today and we went to the post office together. To be sure, we mailed it via Priority with tracking number. According to some websites, California Service Center process faster than Vermont or Texas, well hope it's true. Because time is really important for us now due to our plans of moving next month. Hoping I get a mail for biometrics before we move on September.

For those readers who doesn't know, this process is for the immigrant who married a US Citizen. USCIS or Department of Homeland Security, wants to be sure that your marriage is real and you did not come to the US to evade immigration laws. They wanted evidence of relationship such as documents showing that you live together as husband and wife. Here are some strong evidence that you can send: financial records showing joint ownership of assets and joint responsibility for liabilities, such as joint savings account and checking accounts. Joint federal and state tax returns, insurance policies that show the other spouse as beneficiary, joint installments and other loans. Lease or mortgage contracts showing joint occupancy and or ownership of your communal residence. You can also add an affidavit of y0ur friends attesting to your relationship and marriage, letters from relatives and friends, christmas cards, holiday cards or anything that shows that you live in the same address. I included all of these in our packet just to be sure we will not get RFE's or delay for additional informations.

Great American Seafood Cook-Off

I'm a big seafood lover.. But me, I enjoy many kinds of seafood prepared in so many different ways. Shrimp, Crabs, Oysters, Mussels, lobsters, and different kinds of fish. I just created a very simple dish that can compliment my taste and crave for shrimp and garlic. The flavor of garlic and shrimp blend together cooked in a little amount of wine, black pepper, sugar and salt is a sure hit for shrimp lovers like me. Here's the simple and easy to do recipe if you want to try it:

1 lb tiger shrimps
10 cloves garlic (sliced thinly)
oil
3tbsp cooking wine
2tbsp coarse black pepper
sugar and salt (follow your taste)

Procedure:
Dry the shrimp by frying in oil to remove the water on it. Set aside. Stir-fry garlic until brown in color, then put the shrimp on it and stir. Add the wine, sugar and salt until flavor is well-absorbed. Last, sprinkle the black pepper when the shrimp has been cooked. That's it!

If you guys have tried this recipe, you can share any ideas or suggestions to improve the taste of this recipe. Or feel free to reply if you have a recipe of your own that you can share. I would be very glad to receive any from you. How I wish this recipe can be a contender in Cook off happening in August 2-3 in New Orleans. I am excited on this event since I am a seafood enthusiast and love to see the different dishes the contestant prepared for this event. These events help show the positiveness of domestic seafood sustainability. These seafood plates are grown are known, it is local and fresh. It makes us appreciate more of our seafood.

This is a big media and national event with funding by the NOAA fisheries, Louisiana food expo, PBS of Louisiana, Michelob, Shell, and many other large companies. I am excited now to watch it, it will be televised on the Food Network channel too, or if you want you can watch it live coz they are also selling tickets to the events. Just go to their website now for more information.

Moving Again

For the 4th time, we will be moving again. This time, were moving back in Dubuque, Iowa. I know it's so stressing to do this again, but we need to decide what's better for us, for economic reasons. I constantly complaining about soaring gas prices here, Jon's working in Milwaukee area, just about 30 minutes drive from here. We always compare our lifestyle wayback in Dubuque, I missed the very cheap house rental, and we both work close to our house, so gas is not an issue. Hope things will work out according to our plan.
