xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxOn our way to Rhody's RestaurantWe are not a romantic couple who celebrate Valentine's Day. From what I remember last year, its a Valentince card and a greeting with a kiss, that's all. From what I witnessed to some couples here who celebrate as grand as they could, an expensive jewelry gifts (from zales, tiffany, etc.)an expensive flower bouquets, a cruise trip or any expensive gifts for husband and wife, hehehhe, that's so sweet and romantic. For me, spending time together with him on this occassion is more important (truly, huh, ok, I admit, I'm being realistic, he will not spend thousand of dollars spending gifts for me, hehehehe) still not satisfied? ok, he can't afford it, haahaha opps, hope he is not reading this. Seriously, I can't afford too, to buy him expensive gifts. Just sent him an e-card earlier with a sweet thoughts and that's priceless.
Actually, another factor is the time, were both working during the days, as soon as I rise up from the bed, he's already at work (he's just retired 4 months ago but choose to work if there is part time available). He goes back in the afternoon to bartend, while I'm at work. By the time I get home from work, he's still at the bar working, up to whatever time, depends upon the schedule.
My co-worker were discussing about what do they expect to receive from their husband, one even received an early Valentine gift from her husband, a seductive black swim wear, we are all laughing at the thought of her wearing it. Another female co-worker said, she's expecting a flowers from her husband, uhmmm, seems sweet. Then comes my turn....I told them, I'm not expecting anything from my husband this Valentines day, huhuhu. I even think my husband is anti-valentines, because I heard him saying....Valentines is invented so that people have somthing to spend for.
He got home from work a few hours late, said he was tired and walk right past me dressed up sexy to crash on the bed. Well, I figured, its Valentine's I have to wear something sexy too( which is not normal for me, because of this cold weather, I have to wear layers and thick clothes). When he woke up, he kissed me on the lips, greet me, and promised to be early tonight for our Valentines dinner date. With that simple gesture of him, it still brings happiness, its like reassuring of our love and vows again.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxRhody's Restaurant entranceWe went to Rhody's Restaurant that night, a not so fancy restaurant located at Old Highway Road, we both our first time there. He knew this Restaurant from recommendation of a friend. He knows that I love fish. They said its an "Eat all you can Fish", since its Friday and as a Catholic I can't eat meat at this Lenten season. Surely, when we enter the restaurant it is full packed, we were ushered by the waitress in the inner corner.
We sit at not so clean table, the waitress is nice though. The prices on the menu is very reasonable, Cod fish and Catfish, eat all you can is $8.95 for an order. Salad Bar is buffet, get all you can. The fish will be serve to you. Their salad bar is not so impressive to me. They have this 3beans salad, a sour taste, green bean, yellow beans, and red kidney beans. Cream of mushroom soup tastes floury not creamy. Another included in their salad bar is Coleslaw, the taste is blunt, the fruits are not that fresh.
We already finished eating our salads, waited for 30 minutes, but the order is not there yet. The restaurants is very noisy, customers were loud. After a long wait, and talking about not to ever ever come back again on this restaurant, the waitress is here with a big smile giving our order, baked cod fish, fried catfish, hashbrown with onions and cheese. In fairness, their baked codfish is good, in fact we get another order. But not the fried fish, the crumbs are so oily.
Overall, my recommendations on this restaurant is not favorable. If you love fish, baked fish and likes affordable price maybe this place is for you. Definitely, we will not come back again on this Restaurant.
